Jan. 2016 - Present

- Support pre-sales efforts with demonstrations and technical expertise. Help customers identify 3DExcite product and services suitable for their design needs and demonstrate how to integrate them into the design process. Demonstrate advanced DeltaGen plug-ins including RealDrive (driving simulation), RealImpact (crash simulation), RealFluid (aerodynamics simulation), and ToleranceVis. Assist sales force in building rapport with customers. Provide direct on-site customer training and technical support.

- Key accounts under my responsibility: General Motors, Honda, Ford, FCA, Toyota, Nissan, Gulf Stream, Lockheed Martin, Case New Holland, Paccar, Harley Davidson.

- Special Assignment – Lockheed Martin (On-site): F35 Lightning - Turbine PoC, Orion Mars Command Module PoC, Skunk Works PoC. (Required US security clearance for all 3 projects).

- Part of a four-man team specializing in High End Visualization and Virtual prototyping. Support pre-sales efforts with demonstrations and technical expertise. Help customers identify 3DExcite product and services suitable for their design needs and demonstrate how to integrate them into the design process. Assist sales force in building rapport with customers.

- Provide direct on-site customer training and technical support. Provided services-for-hire to Nissan as leader of cross-functional team of artists and engineers tasked with creating virtual prototypes to cut time and costs involved with physical properties.



Prestige Engineering - Photo Retoucher & Render Artist

May 2012 - September 2012

- Created 3-D models and 2-D marketing assets for web and catalogs for Chrysler products.  Developed method for integrating Maya and KeyShot data and created a master materials library.  Activities included leading a user group in development of technical best practices.


General Motors Design Center - Digital Artist, Creative Digital Imaging & Animation

March 2010 – November 2011

- Used Maya to create digital press / media quality renderings and animations that portrayed products in visual realism competitive to film and photography. Projects included Buick Enclave, Cadillac CTS, XTS and ATS and GMC Sierra HD All-terrain concept truck.

- Developed techniques for importing Maya cameras and animations into DeltaGen and Showcase enabling designers to render different effects in different applications for later 2-D and 3-D compilation in Photoshop or After Effects.

- Member of design team that created the GMC Sierra HD animation for the 2010 – 2011 North American Auto Shows.

- Designated Showcase SME (subject matter expert) and Mentor for Design Center (North America).

- Created multiple custom HDR environments from Spherion camera output for global use in Showcase and DeltaGen



Digital Artist, Color and Trim

January 2009 – February 2010

Created real-time presentations for alternative color and materials themes for automotive interior and exterior concepts.

- Designated SME for DeltaGen software and earned Color Acuity Certification.

- Created General Motors Global Shader Library assuring color-matching consistency in all GM design facilities.

- Initiated global color calibration project and standardization of color environment in GM Design Centers worldwide.



Assistant Manager, Virtual Reality

November 2001 – December 2008

Assembled 2-D and 3-D assets using GM’s proprietary “Visualize” software (and later DeltaGen) for presentation at executive reviews including reviews of design programs being developed throughout NA and in seven locations abroad.

- Pioneered use of VR for exterior theme evaluation.

- Proposed and implemented use of “Cave” technology for interior theme development and evaluation of 1:5 scale concepts in full size.

- Used Team Center Community to facilitate global VR collaboration.


Lead Alias Sculptor, Studio

February 1999 – October 2001

Directed activities of teams of up to eight Alias sculptors to create complete interior and exterior themes for vehicles. Additionally, continued duties as Alias sculptor for such vehicles as Chevrolet Venture, Buick Rendezvous, and GMC Trail Blazer.

- Selected as lead for 2004 Chevrolet Corvette interior, team member for exteriors and designated Alias Trainer / Mentor for Production North and show car group.

- Lead on mid-cycle enhancements for GMT800 full-size truck, GM’s largest program developed through virtual technology.

- Member of Design Best Practices Committee.


Alias Sculptor, Studio (Direct)

April 1996 - September 1999

- Digitally sculpted 3-D concepts from sketches and scan data for portions of interiors and exteriors on vehicles including Pontiac Bonneville, Oldsmobile Aurora, Buick LeSabre, Cadillac Seville, and Pontiac Sun fire. Hired as full-time GM employee.


Clay Sculptor, Studio (Contract)

June 1993 – March 1996 

- Hand modeled interiors and exteriors full-size and 1:5 scale. Used Taurus C/NC Milling & Digitizing System to mill parts for clay models and digitize 3-D model surfaces.
